Arizona Charlie’s Decatur is a locals casino just west of downtown Las Vegas on Decatur Blvd. between Alta Dr. and Charleston Ave. It is a typical locals joint for the area and caters to $5 table game players, as well as low stakes slots and video poker ones.
Golden Entertainment is the owner of Arizona Charlie’s, which is the same company that owns Stratosphere and Aquarius Casino in Laughlin. Golden Entertainment also operates dozens of gaming taverns in the Las Vegas Valley that go by the brands PT’s, Sierra Gold and Sean Patrick’s.
Arizona Charlie’s Decatur has a small poker room as well as a sportsbook and bingo hall. Guests will find 5 restaurants on the property, most of which are casual or fast food. The casino is home to a hotel with 258 rooms, however, there is little in the way of entertainment options. The only entertainment available are its bars and lounges, which host a weekend musical act.
There are 7 table games at Arizona Charlie’s, of which four are blackjack tables. Two of these are double deck games, while the other two are six-deck. Both games have the same rules; double down before and after splitting are permitted, Aces may be split up to four hands and the dealer hits soft 17. Blackjack pays 3-2 at all games and the limits are $5-$500.
There is a double zero roulette table with limits of $5-$200. Craps has limits of $5-$500 with 5 times odds. The Field pays triple on 12. Pai Gow Poker is spread with $10-$500 limits.
The video poker at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur is typical of a standard locals casino. The best game is 10/7/5 Double Bonus Poker (100.17%). The bonus is that its royal flush is tied to a progressive jackpot. It is spread in the $1.00 denomination. There is $0.10 Triple Deuces Wild. Otherwise, the best game is 8/5 Bonus Poker.
There is a nonsmoking slots section at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. Unlike all other casinos with nonsmoking areas, the one at Arizona Charlie’s is entirely walled off from the smoking section.
There is a small sportsbook on the south end of the casino that uses odds from Stratosphere. The company does not have a mobile betting app.
There is a small 3-table poker room at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. The cash games spread are 2/4 and 4/8 Fixed Limit Texas Hold ’em. There is a 1/2 No Limit Hold’em game that runs from time to time. The poker room does not spread any tournaments. Arizona Charlie’s was the last Las Vegas poker room to allow smoking, but that ended in 2017.
Arizona Charlie’s hosts the only 24-hour bingo hall in Las Vegas. The bingo room requires a $4 minimum to play. There is a new game at every odd hour around the clock.
AcePlay is the players club at Arizona Charlie’s. It is also used by the Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Stratosphere and Aquarius Casino in Laughlin.
Arizona Charlie’s players that use AcePlay will receive one point for every dollar wagered on slots and two dollars bet on video poker. Points are converted at a rate of 300 for every dollar in food or hotel comps, 500 for free play or bingo and 600 for cash. This is 0.167%, 0.1% and 0.083%, respectively.
Active players will receive weekly mailers. Offers include free slot play, hotel rooms and food comps. Players that make Orange receive double points. Green receives triple. The Red AcePlay card receives quadruple points. All these tiers receive 25% off buffets. Green and Red receive line passes and priority seating in restaurants. Red receives a host and limo service.
Ron’s Steakhouse is the high-end dining option here. It is not upscale, however. Casual attire is permitted. In addition to steaks, pork chops, lamb chops, fish, chicken, shellfish and prime rib. There is also a salad, soup, wine and appetizer menus. Ron’s Steakhouse opens at 4pm Wednesday through Sunday. It is closed Monday and Tuesday.
The buffet is open for lunch and dinner daily. Breakfast is served on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a Sunday brunch. Breakfast is $8.39. Lunch is $10.19. Dinner is $11.99 on standard menu nights, $14.99 on Wednesday’s barbecue, $14.39 for Sunday brunch and $17.99 for weekend prime rib dinner. Players above the Blue tier in the AcePlay loyalty program receive 25% off all buffets.
Sourdough Café is a 24-hour dining option at Arizona Charlie’s. Breakfast offers an expansive menu that includes omelets, corned beef hash, breakfast burritos, waffles, French toast and a daily ham steak special. Breakfast is served all day and night.
The lunch menu starts with soups and salads. The appetizer menu includes nachos, quesadillas and a variety of fried food. There is a large burger and sandwich menu. Dinner entrees include fried seafood baskets, steak, prime rib, meatloaf and turkey pot pie.
There is a small food court between the poker room and sportsbook. It includes a Noble Roman’s Pizza and Subway. Subway is open 24 hours a day.
There is little in the way of entertainment at Arizona Charlie’s. There is a lounge act on weekends. There is a small banquet hall that hosts small conventions and private parties.
There are 258 hotel rooms at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. Rates start at $50 on weeknights and $70 on weekends, but peak weekends can run up to $50 per night or higher. These rates do not include tax or the $16 resort fee, which covers free WiFi and pool access. The base rate listed above is for a Klondike room which have either one king or two queens. Guests may upgrade to a Meadows room for $9 more per night.
Rooms booked through the Arizona Charlie’s website can earn a 10% discount. We’ve also discovered that an additional discount may appear if a room reservation is abandoned in the middle of the process.
