The casino at the Catalonia Royal Bávaro Resort is fairly large in size compared to other Dominican Republic casinos, and is often filled with hotel guests enjoying a relaxing evening at the tables and slot machines provided. The types of players here will usually be casual gamblers that are filling up their time at the resort with some entertaining action at the tables and slot machines. This means that you can expect a light-hearted atmosphere on most nights with most visitors looking for enjoyment rather than focusing too much on the money they are winning or losing.
At the casino you can use either the local Dominican Republic currency or US Dollars. The latter is accepted throughout the resort and even the country in most places, so you should never have any problems. As for the limits you can expect to find at this casino, these will generally be low but you may find some medium range limits on occasion too.
When you enter the casino, you will notice a total of 12 tables in various locations on the casino floor. A number of these tables host blackjack; a game that always creates a social atmosphere at this casino.
If American Roulette is your preferred table game, you will be catered for as well as there is a handful of these tables for you to enjoy. Note that this is the “double zero” version of roulette that has a higher house edge compared to European Roulette.
Poker cash games can also be enjoyed, although this will be in the casino’s separate poker room. At Catalonia Royal Bávaro’s poker room you can enjoy cash games of varying limits when playing No-Limit Texas Hold’em. Tournaments are not offered at this casino but the ring games should be enough to keep most poker players entertained.
Caribbean Stud Poker is the only other table game you will find at this casino as it is a local favorite.
If gaming machines are your thing, the casino at the Catalonia Royal Bávaro certainly has you covered with 150 slot machines available within its casino. This selection includes new video slots, traditional penny machines and even a series of slots that are connected to a casino-wide progressive jackpot.
Video poker machines can also be found at this casino but there are not as many of these as there are slot machines. You should expect rather high limits on the gaming machines here as this casino is geared more towards tourists than serious gamblers. Still, the limits that are available will be more than adequate for most of you.
