Flamingo Marina Resort & Casino is a privately-owned establishment tucked between the rugged beauty of the island interior and the Pacific Ocean in Playa, Costa Rica.
If you find yourself wanting to visit Costa Rica and plan on paying Flamingo Marina Resort a visit then catch a flight to nearby Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport via any of the major airlines. Flamingo Marina Resort does offer any airport shuttle services, but if you would rather not be confined within the walls of the resort then you’ll find that renting a car is the best way to get around Costa Rica.
Flamingo Marina Resort & Casino is surrounded by all sorts of fun activities aside from gambling, such as scuba diving, tennis, national parks, horseback riding. Flamingo Beach is also within walking distance from the resort, and is one of Costa Rica’s best beaches.
If you were not aware of the casino at Flamingo Marina beforehand, you could very well spend your entire holiday at the resort without even knowing that it existed! The tiny space includes just a handful of slot machines and even fewer table games – just enough to keep your casual gamblers entertained. The casino only accepts US Dollars and is open daily between the hours of 6 PM and 3 AM.
The casino has a bar that serves complimentary drinks to all active players and there is even a pool table if you need a short break from gambling. Fridays and Sundays are designated tournament days for Texas Hold‘em poker but this depends on the demand for it. If there are enough players, then poker tournaments usually start at 8 PM.
Due to the fact that the casino at Flamingo Marina Resort is quite small, it only runs about two or three table games per night. There is one $10 blackjack table that is pretty much always open and this table uses 6 decks and does not deviate from the rules of standard blackjack.
There is 1 craps table but it is not guaranteed that this table will be running every night. The minimum bets for this table are $2 and the maximum bets are $20.
There is also just 1 poker table that gets used for Texas Hold‘em tournaments on most Fridays and Sundays. This is not a high limit table however the winnings have reached as high of $1,000 before.
The casino at Flamingo Marina Resort has only 8 slot machines that are linked up to an in-house jackpot worth $100 that resets weekly. The casino also features an additional 2 video reel slot machines. All video machines accept coins denominated in $0.25.
The only hotel accommodations available at the casino by way of Flamingo Marina Resort. At Flamingo Marina Resort you can expect to be paying somewhere around $130 per night for a standard room that sleeps two and around $350 per night for a more luxurious room. There are 120 rooms that all come with free WiFi and you can find some rooms with flat-screen TV’s but they are not included in the standard rooms.
The resort amenities include a tennis court, pool, hot tub, gym and a few bars and a restaurant. They also arrange daily activities like watersports and trips to the beach (even though it is within walking distance).
There are other lodging options in the area if you are interested but they do not have direct access to the casino like at Flamingo Marina Resort.
There is one in-house restaurant at Flamingo Marina Resort, however, they have not named the restaurant and is referred to as the “main dining room”. There are 2 bars called the Monkey Bar and the Laguna Snack Bar.
The Main Dining Hall is, as one would guess, the main restaurant at Flamingo Marina Resort. It is open daily for breakfast buffets, lunch and supper from 6:30 AM until 11 PM and on Sundays, it closes at 10 PM. They serve a mix of international foods and local cuisine.
The Monkey Bar is located in the scenic garden of the resort and here you can expect relaxed vibes and handmade specialty cocktails.
The Laguna Snack Bar offers light meals and some drinks (only beers and ciders in terms of alcoholic beverages) then the Laguna Snack Bar located next to the pool is the place for you.
