Owned by the Barcelo Group which has more than 230 properties all over the world, the all-inclusive Barceló Playa Langosta Resort & Casino is 1 of 7 properties owned by the group in Costa Rica. This 4-star resort is located on a sublime Pacific Coast beach that is extremely close to the Tamarindo area in Costa Rica. The casino is open daily from 7 PM to 1 AM.
Reaching the Barceló Playa Langosta Resort & Casino will take just 50 minutes from the Liberia International Airport by car, taxi or airport shuttle. Car rentals can be found at the airport or you could leave that until you reach the resorts as they will also provide their visitors with car rental services as well.
Las Baulas Park, Vida Silvestre Refuge and the magnificent sandy beaches of Tamarindo Bay are just some of the tourist attractions in close proximity to the Barceló Playa Langosta Resort & Casino. As a resort, however, you will have everything that you need on-site. Its most popular amenities include a spa, several swimming pools with jacuzzis, a beauty parlor, mini-club, nightclub, restaurant and of course. It’s most popular feature, however, is its casino.
The legal age for gambling in Costa Rica is 18, and the Barceló Playa Langosta Casino always upholds this rule. As one of the classier casinos in the area, the dress code here is smart casual.
At the casino in the Barceló Playa Langosta Resort & Casino, you can expect a fairly small – but modern – casino floor. The main gaming area is decked out with a small number of slot machines and table games. Generally, the atmosphere is quite laid-back because most players tend to be tourists that have come to the resort purely to enjoy the beaches during the day and get into some casual gambling at night.
The Barceló Playa Langosta Resort & Casino will provide you access to many of the more traditional games, which are apread across a handful of tables. You will also be able to enjoy up to date slots.
As mentioned previously, this is a pretty small casino and for that reason, you can only expect to see 4 tables. Two of these tables are rummy blackjack tables, the Costa Rican version of the traditional table game. There are slight variations from standard blackjack rules and you should ask the dealer to clarify them if you have never played this game before.
Caribbean Stud Poker is found at one table while the remaining table provides punters with the popular game of roulette. As you will find at most casinos in Costa Rica, this wheel is the American version that has double zeros, which lower the odds slightly for players.
Limits for any of these games should not be expected to be too high as most players that visit will only be looking to enjoy some casual gambling rather than anything too serious. Different games will have different limits and if you ever want to try and increase them, you will probably have to get the agreement from all other players as well.
There are about 10 slot machines on the casino floor which is a fairly small number but those that are there are hugely popular among players. None of the machines have progressive jackpots but you will find some modern video slots that offer up some great gameplay, fantastic graphics and some innovative bonus features.
There are a couple of video poker games among the slots, and these provide an entertaining way to try and win some money at this casino. Generally, the limits on these video poker machines are pretty low, essentially allowing you to play for pennies if you wish, but you can go as high as $10 per hand if your wallet will allow it.
